Our natural all vegetable soap base, our wonderful gel colorants, molds, fragrances and instructions. All a better quality than your local craft store -- better selection -- and cheaper!

My daughter and I stopped in Opalz one morning and did the soap bar. We were so impressed how well the soaps came out that we decided to have my daughter's next birthday there. It was the best party we had ever hosted as well as been to. I really appreciated how much help was brought in to the party. Everyone was attended to. The party room was very well decorated and spacious and the staff was wonderful. They were attentive, friendly and even funny. The soap products that they made were of high quality which was an added bonus. All the kids had a good time and my daughter's party was the talk of her classmates for weeks. Footsteps Preschool had so much fun making soap at Opalzoap. Annie did a great job explaining the soap making process and helping the children. The experience offered many learning experiences as well. There were wonderful fragrances, color mixing and safe cutting. Annie went way above the call of duty by delivering our soap to school since it wasn't quite ready to take with us. Not only did the children have fun but the adults did too. We have a make-your-own-soap bar (just call for availability), informative classes and wonderful parties both for adults and kids.

Located in Midtown Palo Alto. Opal’z has created a unique and special experience in a neighborhood shop — the art and craft of soap making! We also teach cold processes soap making, lotion crafting, lip balms, and much more.

One of our most popular features is soap making parties for all ages. We have birthday parties, singles soap making parties, networking parties and family parties.

We proudly offer handcrafted soaps, lotions, body care and a full line of color and mineral make-up. We also display hand-made jewelry and other crafts from local artisans.

We also carry ingredients to make your own bath and body products at home. From our fine soap base to molds, colorants and butters, waxes and oils, we have what you need to do it yourself!

We apologize ... but until further notice we will not have regular weekday hours due to staff illness and Annie’s other job. We can answer phone messages and are fast on e mails. We will always be here and open for scheduled weekend and evening classes or parties. If you need supplies we can make arrangements ahead of time and leave them for you. Again, we are so sorry to inconvenience you, but we are doing as best as we can right now.

Opal’z owner., Annie Jenkins has been a film and television make-up artist since 1979. After years with working on music videos, commercials, feature films and television broadcasts, Annie’s clients now are mostly top executives and “real people”. Combining a lifelong love of crafting, an interest in herbs and naturals and knowledge of hair, skin and beauty products, Annie has been making soap, lotions, and balms for 8 years. The enthusiasm for all things bath and body hasn't wained ... there is always more to learn and Annie loves to share knowledge.
