We have a drop in make-your-own-soap bar, informative classes and wonderful parties both for adults and kids.  

Located in Midtown Palo Alto.  Opal’z has created a unique and special experience in a neighborhood shop — the art and craft of soap making! We also teach cold processes soap making, lotion crafting, lip balms, and much more. 

One of our most popular features is soap making parties for all ages.  We have birthday parties, singles soap making parties, networking parties and family parties.

We proudly offer handcrafted soaps, lotions, body care and a full line of color and mineral make-up. We also display hand-made jewelry and other crafts from local artisans. 

We also carry ingredients to make your own bath and body products at home.  From our fine soap base to molds, colorants and butters, waxes and oils, we have what you need to do it yourself!

indulgeWe offer handcrafted soaps and skin body care products: soaps, lotions, balms, bath bombs and mineral makeup.

The difference for your skin after using handmade soap is remarkable. Natural soap contains its skin-loving glycerin inside each bar. Glycerin is removed from the majority of factory manufactured soaps, and is sold separately to increase profits. Your skin is natural. Our soap is natural. When the two come together, you are allowing your skin to perform its natural functions while being cleansed with fragrant herbs, flowers, and luxury oils.

Mineral make-up
We offer loose minerals, and pressed and liquid mineral foundations with the flexibility for sheer, natural, or complete coverage. Our loose minerals offer natural sunscreen, and are free of talc, starch and fragrance. Our mineral make-up nourishes, protects, and evens skin tone. We also offer mineral eyeshadow, matte eyeshadow with customizable palettes, color lipsticks, creamy glosses, and high quality brushes for perfect application — all at very reasonable prices. Come and check out our testers to find just the right shade and formula for you.

Skin and body care
Opal’z makes peppermint foot balm, lip balm bases, tea tree balm, mineral bath salts, bath confetti, and bath bombs. We also carry a large variety of Get Fresh foot products, foaming facial gel, day cream, refining sea mud masque, equalizing herbal masque, and exfoliating enzyme scrub.

From 280 or 101 take Oregon Expressway (west from 101) or Page Mill Road (east from 280).  Continue to Middlefield Road.  Go south on Middlefield.  Turn left on Colorado and a left into the first driveway.


The address is 719 Colorado Ave, but it is hidden behind the office building that is 711 Colorado.  It is easier to find from the back so after you turn into the driveway continue straight ahead and underneath an overhang to a big parking lot in the back.  Opal’z is the little 2 story “IKEA blue” building right next to the overhang you passed through.

We are always open Wednesday through Sunday from 10-4, but often much later than 4PM.  Give a call if you can't make it before 4PM and we can usually arrange later hours.
